Debate and dialogue between companies, governmental organisations and knowledge institutes is one of the most important elements of the European Defence Conference. In this month’s newsletter we would like to inform you of the latest progress concerning the conference and to focus attention on an important part of the programme where this dialogue will take place, the snapshot and poster sessions.

Snapshot-and-poster sessions
On both days of the conference there will be a session with about 20 snapshot presentations each. On the first day companies, research institutions and government representatives will have the opportunity to brief on results from R&T projects. The session on the second day of the conference will be dedicated to proposals for new projects.

A snapshot presentation is comprised of five minutes speaking time. After the last presentation has been given, the participants of the session will move to the exhibition area where the posters of the presenters will be displayed. Here, discussions and further explanations can take place.

After the conference, we will upload a “Book of Abstracts” to our website. This part of the site will only be available for EDC participants. In this website section you will find extended downloadable abstracts and more detailed information of all contributions to the snapshot-sessions.

Call for contributions
We have already received contributions for the snapshot-sessions from all over Europe. Each month, we are selecting a couple of these to be presented at the conference. We would like to take the opportunity to call for more contributions to make sure that the presenters come from a broad spectrum of backgrounds (industry, research or government) and countries.
On our website, you can find a couple of R&T result contributions and proposals for new projects that have already been selected:

Please submit a short abstract (max. 100 words) of your R&T results or project proposal using the relevant button in this section. After review, we will ask you to send us an extended abstract, presentation and poster.
