On 11 April 2012 KIVI NIRIA, the Netherlands member association of the EDTA, organises the 11th edition of their annual symposium, named after Professor Kooy, at the Naval Barracks in Amsterdam. The symposium is organised in cooperation with TNO and the association of Army Engineers APA.

This year the technical, operational, financial and political advantages and disadvantages of "Critical Mission Training and Rehearsal" will be discussed: very realistic, yet virtual, training just prior to a mission. The almost 100% realism of this type of virtual training is reflected in this years motto: YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE.
Emerging technological options enable an array of (team) training opportunities to maximum realism, easy adaptation to new obtained local knowledge and opportunities for considerable cost savings relative to real life training.

Among the speakers are a Member of the Netherlands Parliament, the Netherlands MoD Director of Operational Policy and Requirements, The US DoD Director Training Readiness and Strategy, speakers from international and national industries and many others. In addition to plenary presentations two workshops will be held. On a small exhibition virtual training related Netherlands industry products will be shown.
For more information see the downloadable programme below (in English) or follow this link to the symposium website (in Dutch).

Members of EDTA associations are cordially invited to attend the symposium. Admission is free upon prior registration.
The language of the symposium is Dutch, but simultaneos translation into English is available during the plenary sessions.
Proof of EU/NATO member nation citizenship is required for all attendees.

Please contact E: dv@kiviniria.nl or T:+31 71 7113973 if you would like to attend.
