11 sep 2013 13:00-17:30 at the KIVI NIRIA conference centre in The Hague.

Where energy availability was considered a non-issue in the recent past it quickly gains attention since we calculated the price of gasoline during the Afghanistan mission to be up to $100,- per liter. Costs for long distance transportation and costs of security contribute to this amount.
Questions are: Could alternate sources of energy or new technologies save money. Would traditional and alternate energy sources be available in future mission areas.

During the workshop we will discuss energy requirements, forecasts in energy availablity, technology developments and the policy of the Netherlands MoD. Presentations will be given by:
- CAPT (RNLN Marcel Hendriks Vettehen (ret)  (Energie Voor Inzet)
- Prof. Dr. Coby van der Linde (Clingendael Institute)
- Prof. Dr. Ir G.J. (Gert-Jan) Kramer (Shell)
- Drs. P.M. (Pim) Leltz (NL MoD)

Conference language will be Dutch.
Admission is free for members of the EDTA associations upon prior registration.
